Investigation into fatal accident will likely take weeks

On Behalf of | Feb 25, 2019 | Workers' Compensation |

It is rare these days to find someone who has never ordered a package from Amazon. The fact that the company sells almost any product imaginable and can quickly deliver is often a draw that few people in California and across the country can resist. However, many people may be unaware of the effort that goes into that quick delivery. Unfortunately, three people are presumed dead after a fatal accident involving an airplane crash.

The incident happened just before 1 p.m. on a day in February and involved a plane that was operating for Amazon. Three people were on board. Unfortunately, reports indicate that communication with the plane was lost, and the plane went off the radar approximately 30 minutes from the airport.

Officials say that the plane crashed into a bay. Though one body has since been recovered, the other two people who were on the plane are also believed to be deceased. The sheriff in the area where the crash occurred claims that it is difficult to imagine anyone surviving the crash. The investigation into the incident is expected to take weeks to complete.

The families of the three people on the plane are now facing their worst nightmares as a result of the fatal accident. Unfortunately, all jobs hold some risk of injury, even when the strictest safety precautions are in place. As a result, employees in California and other areas of the country provide workers’ compensation insurance benefits, which can help injured workers or their families in the event of a fatality. An attorney with experience with such cases can help victims — including surviving family members — fully understand the process and help them seek a fair resolution.
