Worker’s injuries in industrial accident described as significant

On Behalf of | Jan 20, 2020 | Workers' Compensation |

When workers in California and across the country report to work, they likely expect that they will return to their homes in the same conditions in which they left. In fact, most go to great lengths to ensure their safety. Unfortunately, unforeseen incidents can occur, leaving workers suffering from serious injuries. In fact, a worker in another state was recently hospitalized following an industrial accident.

First responders report receiving a call during the early morning hours of a day in January. According to reports, the incident involved a worker at Holo-Krome, a machine shop where metal is hardened into bolts and nuts. The call involved a worker suffering from burns.

According to first responders, a flash fire occurred in a furnace, injuring the worker. The victim was reportedly conscious when rescue workers provided transportation to a burn unit. The condition of the worker is unknown. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was contacted, and the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection reported to the scene to clean up an oil spill.

Unfortunately, workers who suffer significant burn injuries in industrial accidents often face a lengthy recovery period and require extensive medical treatment. Because medical costs in combination with lost wages can be devastating for a victim in a situation such as this, employers are required to provide workers’ compensation insurance benefits. These can help with a variety of different financial hardships associated with an accident that occurs while completing job-related tasks. Though the compensation process may seem complicated, many in California have successfully sought a fair settlement with the help of an experienced professional.
