Industrial accident involving explosion results in fatality

Most workers in California and across the country are committed to safety, prompting them to follow all safety recommendations. Unfortunately, despite a variety of safety-conscious measures, an industrial accident can still occur, resulting in serious injury or, in some cases, death. In fact, a recent incident that resulted in a worker's death remains under investigation.

The accident reportedly happened on a day in March. Rescue workers say that they responded to a business, Hyper Comp Engineering, after receiving multiple phone calls about an explosion. Upon their arrival, they discovered damage consistent with a sudden combustion.

Reports indicate that there was only one person inside the business at the time of the explosion, a 33-year-old man who died at the scene. The worker was reportedly moving oxygen between tanks when one of the tanks ruptured which caused several other tanks to rupture as well. Investigators are working to determine what caused the rupture.

Family and friends of the deceased man -- who describe him as having a big heart and personality -- are working to support the family financially. According to media reports, the man leaves behind a wife and three young children. Fortunately, states, including California, require that employers provide workers' compensation insurance benefits that can help victims of an industrial accident with many of the expenses associated with it, including funeral expenses. To help ensure that the family receives a fair settlement, they may choose to ask an experienced professional to help them to navigate the compensation process, allowing them to focus on their recovery rather than negotiating with an insurance company.
