There are many workers in California and across the country who are extremely skilled when it comes to completing job-related tasks. Because they have sufficient training and experience, they are able to competently do their jobs. Unfortunately, even the safest, most experienced workers are not completely able to avoid the many hazards that are found in most occupations, preventing a work-related accident.

In fact, two men recently lost their lives in an occupational accident in another state. Reports indicate that rescue workers arrived at the scene of the accident just after 8:30 a.m. on a day in early August. They report discovering three injured workers at the scene.

Police say that they temporarily evacuated the area as they searched for signs of electrical hazards or gas leaks. It is believed that the workers struck an underground power cable while installing other lines. Unfortunately, two of the men, a 35-year-old and a 20-year-old, died from injuries suffered. The third worker escaped with minor injuries; he was treated and released from the hospital.

Many people in California who become victims of a work-related accident often report to their shift thinking that the day will be the same as any other day at work. Unfortunately, accidents can have serious, even tragic, consequences, often leaving victims and their family members struggling as a result. Because of the financial complications an accident can cause, employers are required to provide workers’ compensation insurance benefits that can help with medical expenses and lost wages of an accident such as this. If the accident results in a fatality, the benefits can also cover funeral costs. To ensure fair treatment, victims and their families often seek assistance from an attorney who understands the compensation process.
