Industrial accident: Man injured while working on AC unit

Most workers in California are aware of the potential of being involved in an accident while at work. Despite this knowledge, it is difficult to be fully prepared in the event an industrial accident does occur. In fact, the family of a man recently injured in an out-of-state accident is worried about their financial future after he suffered serious injuries at work.

The 53-year-old victim reportedly worked for Hussman Corporation. Reports indicate that he was working on an air conditioning unit located at a Randalls Store around 11:30 a.m. on a day in late June. According to reports, a rupture in the unit occurred, causing a serious injury to the man’s knee.

The man was transported to the hospital where he underwent surgery to amputate his leg. He remains hospitalized following the accident. He is reportedly facing two more surgeries and rehabilitation before he can return home. Reports indicate that he is the sole provider for his family.

The financial consequences of an injury such as this are often devastating; medical bills in combination with lost wages can quickly become overwhelming. While family and friends have been supporting the man with an online fundraising campaign, the man may also be entitled to workers’ compensation insurance benefits which can help him with the many financial complications stemming from the industrial accident. Because he may be unaware of the benefits to which he is entitled and how to pursue a fair settlement, he may choose to ask an experienced professional for help as many people who have found themselves in a similar predicament in California choose to do.
